As many readers of this site already know, we are unabashedly over-the-moon geeky about Belle & Sebastian, and in fact, have been so since, oh, around 1996. We know what some people have to say about that, and if you say it to our faces, we will definitely knock your fucking teeth out. So last year, when we threw a party to celebrate the release of their EPs compilation, we were kind of amazed at how many of you felt the same, and in fact, did not hesitate one moment in freaking out all night on the dance floor to nothing less than an all-night Belle & Sebastian freakout. So we’re doing it again. And this year, if we may be so bold, we have a little more to celebrate. So this Friday, join us at Silk City, as Jojo and Will Pym hold the Belle & Sebastian Dance Party to end all Belle & Sebastian Dance Parties. (We’ll also be rolling out some kind of special discount for those of you that would like to do a Belle & Sebastian/Absolute Beginners pub crawl as well, since they’re only about five blocks away from each other, so get ready for mega First Friday awesomeness.) We’ll be giving away records, tickets to their sold-out show at the Electric Factory on March 4th, and various other B&S ephemera. And you think that is all? Bowlie, please. Next Tuesday, February 7th, The Life Pursuit is released, and in honor of that, brace yourselves, people: It will be Belle & Sebastian Day all goddamn day on Philebrity.
