Not a day goes by that we don’t lament the passing of our old podcast “Today’s Vibe.” The Vibe had it all: Bader, call-ins, Ramones tunes, and not least, the soothing, erudite and sexy baritone of Rick Flom. Well, the Vibe is gone forever, and we need to just get over that. But today we find the Flom is back with his mates The National Eye. The Eye’s new record, Roomful of Lions, is out on February 14th, and to get the fires burning they’ve started their own series of podcasts, and no shit, it seriously fucking funny as hell. There’s songs (by the Eye as well as their assortment of crazy friends like The Spinto Band, Like Moving Insects, etc.) and all kinds of wacky audio gags and, oh, it’s just so cute and funny, you will totally want to date them all. So if you ain’t got no Sirius, this might be a good stopgap move. Do it.
