Lilys Emerge From Nothingness Into… Myspace!
We thought we were just slow on the uptake, but today Junkmedia confirms it: The Lilys do in fact have a new record, and whoa ó†jump back, Daddy Kurt! ó†a Myspace page to boot. Everything Wrong Is Imaginary seems to have all the markings of what could be, finally, a major comeback for the storiedly, um, difficult-to-pin-down Lilys: Wiggly guitar action (there’s a preview single on the Myspace page), an entirely new lineup and, seriously, Kurt, absolutely hideous cover art. The low-key release push (it’ll be out Feb. 21, before you know it) suggests that this is the last hand-off to the Lily’s current label, Manifesto, with whom the band has had famously acrimonious relations. Any way you slice it, though, a world with Lilys is always better than a world with no Lilys at all. Welcome back, Kurt Heasley. Your dreams were your ticket out.
