Everybody Do The Grave-Rob!
Oh, don’t we know it: It was 25 years ago today, that, well, it’d be a sin to make it rhyme. But it almost wouldn’t be off-limits if the Inky’s no-holds-barred/no-new-news “PLEASE BOOMERS, COME BACK!” coverage of the anniversary of the death of John Lennon. And so we get the whole craven package: Larry Kane losing grace each time he talks about the Beatles; Daniel Rubin doing, erm, lots of research online; a place where you, the ostensibly still-greiving Lennon fan, can send off your last missives to Beatle John; and of course a remember-when/me-too piece (the Inky’s speciality these days) detailing who mourned in 1980 and how hard. You know, of course ó how could you not? ó†that John hisself would have pissed all over it. And then made a crass joke about waiting for the buyout. He’s not here to do it, so we just did. What a stinkbomb, ye Inky gits.
