Lord & Taylor Turns Hmming And Hawing About Light Show Into A New Holiday Tradition

wanRather than fessing up and facing the truth that, come this time of year, the old Wanamaker’s Light Show is the only reason to go to Lord & Taylor ó home to every unwanted sweater/glove set in all of Christendom ó†they’ve cut the show so that it runs every other hour this year, citing “equipment problems.”

“This is old technology and it can’t be replaced,” Olexa told The Inquirer’s Joseph A. Slobodzian. “In the last few years, we’ve lost some pieces. We’re trying to conserve what we have left by cutting back on the shows.”

Yawn. Just fix the damn thing. This city is literally teeming with weird old dudes who like to tinker with WWII-era electronics. And plus: It’s the light show, how damn hard can it be?
