Mark Bee On Silk City: “Dude, It’s Totally Gonna Stay A Diner. This Aggression Will Not Stand.”
North Third (801 N. 3rd) owner Mark Bee confirmed rumors yesterday that he is the person interested in buying the Silk City (5th & Spring Garden) diner/club.
Bee, who resembles Jeff Bridges as The Dude in “The Big Lebowski” (and we mean that in a nice way), says “it’d be months away,” but he hopes to buy it.
Bee says if he does take over the spot, “it would definitely remain a diner and everything.” Speculation had been he would turn it into a more frou-frou establishment.
