Oh Susanna!
More developments in the weirder-than-hell sepertine downward spiral of Susanna Goihmann today. As you remember, Goihman is the owner of the popular restaurant Azafran who also just so happens to own the registration to the car that took down 15-year-old Kayla Peter some weeks back. Apparently, as the long arm of the law tries to wrap itself around the well-lawyered Goihman, friends and sympathizers have turned their attentions to driving Azafran out of business, protesting outside the restaurant and demanding the restaurant shut its doors.
“I want every piece of this woman’s life interrupted,” said protest organizer Donna Persico, a mother of four from Andorra. “We are in Philadelphia and we’re going to do it our way.”
None of which seems like a particularly graceful way of honoring the dead, but neither does mowing down a young girl with your Lexus and then hiding behind a mote of lawyers and, increasingly, the din of the class wars. And also, not for nothing, Susanna, beating your heart in a Barbara Walters-sized mea culpa in the People Paper didn’t seem to do much either, hon. Nevertheless, the staff of Azafran posted a note saying they’ll be out of business by August 28. Have mercy.
