Thank youse.] At the end of the day yesterday, we posted something that, if you love rock ‘n’ roll and this city, you should be excited about. It was a petition to get Bruce Springsteen & The E-Street Band to play at Live 8. In the cold light of morning, we feel the need to tell you that this is absolutely not a joke. We don’t want to paraphrase the whole petiton again to explain to you why we feel Bruce & Co. would simply make the event make more sense for us, so please just go read it and please, please, please sign it. Yes, we know we’ve got a lot of sack for being so presumptuous as to think our little ol’ website could summon the Boss hisself. But seriously: Will you really be bitching when “Born To Run” explodes like a thunderclap of sheer awesomeness over the Ben Franklin Parkway and the heavens open up and simultaneously impregnate your girlfriend and hand you an ice cold beer? Yeah, we didn’t think so.
