Ah, Craigslist: That place where you can read others make observations about the city that you yourself probably made five years ago. Case in point: The running mud-throw on Missed Connections regarding the dual life of The 700 Club. During the week, it’s a stone hang, a Cheers for early adopters, if you will; by the weekend, however, it’s an Abercrombie & Fitch clusterfuck that is curious, but managable. (Unlike, say, the crowd at Finnegan’s, who might have actually been in a fight or two, these are largely Penn kids we’re talking about, who, it almost goes without saying, are raging pussies.) All of this, dear reader, has been common knowledge for city folk since the turn of the century, but you know, some things are news to everyone.
