So, way back when Carson Daly was hosting TRL, did you ever notice that whenever he’d interview someone in the vein of, oh, say Nelly or 50 Cent, he’d lapse out of his usual Richie Cunningham monotone and into a forced form of Ebonics that was pretty much mortifying for all involved? Well, instead of Carson Daly, picture Action News Reporter Dann Cuellar slipping into this verbal blackface before interviewing an African American woman for a story. As the Daily News reports:

A never-aired videotape of Cuellar’s performance turned up at our office the other day. It shows the veteran reporter seeming to adopt a new voice and persona, asking “What’s goin’ on? Did y’all do somethin’? “Don’t y’all wanna speak up for yourselves?”

For the first time, we’re at a loss for words.
