Ok, yes, Y100 was representative of more or less everything that was wrong with the rock ‘n’ roll business as we know it — the flaccid, consultant-fed playlist, the patronizing bone-throwing to cool/local bands, the utterly douchey morning hosts — but perhaps we were a bit early in dancing on the Coldplay grave: I guess we’d take modern rock over modern gospel any day. Shit. Plus, to add to the confusion:
Hip-hop/R&B 103.9 The Beat will move to 100.3 FM, and 103.9 will soon become [the] gospel station, sources say.
Even listening for shout-outs from your baby’s mama is going to be difficult and confusing in this bold new world.
