Oh, lookie, lookie: Big companies are now using lobbyists to get in the way of Philly’s free WiFi scheme. The first entry into the Hall of Shame? Verizon. (No doubt to be followed by Comcast, et al.) It’s a dastardly plan, totally expected, and it’s also our prediction that this thing is basically dead already. It’s not gonna happen. So just hope your next-door neighbor continues to not be able to figure out that he can password-protect his Airport Extreme. Not that we would know about that.
