Everybody Do The Alt-Weekly Dance

Ah, that brisk autumn air, those falling leaves, and the accompanying City Paper/Philly Weekly shuffle. Besides Duane Swierczynski finally taking Howard Altman’s ed-in-chief seat, it also looks like PW’s Mike Newall is now switch-hittin’ for CP. (Not to be outdone, PW takes a swipe at Newall’s, uh, what? Mannish good looks and sexy Brooklyn accent? Way to zing ‘em, guys!) Meanwhile, we also hear that AinČ Ardron-Doley, whose name is wicked hard to pronounce, has also left the PW building which, shit, at this point, really ought to install a revolving door. Not to be outdone, we also hear that Inky music critic Tom Moon — emboldened by Bob, perhaps (see yesterday), and who always wanted in with the alt-weekly in-crowd anyhoo — has taken a leave of absence to write a book about “the 1,000 best rock albums you should know about before you die.”
